2012 Toyota Prius c Review - The Affordable 60 MPG* Monster

Submitted by Danny on February 8, 2012 - 6:33pm.

I'll admit it. I was skeptical of the Prius Family concept. Over the years, the Prius nameplate has attracted an insanely loyal, albeit non-traditional, customer and enthusiast base. Would Toyota ruin all that goodwill by producing a Prius on steroids that gets <gasp> under 50 MPG? Not so; the Prius v wagon has been a resounding success. In the 3 months since it hit the market, it has easily exceeded Toyota's sales projections, just as I said it would in my glowing review back in May 2011.

Toyota Explains, Demonstrates Noisemaker coming standard in all 2012 Prius models

Submitted by Danny on September 22, 2011 - 5:28pm.

Remember about a year ago when we picked on the Japanese market for introducing an optional artificial noisemaker accessory for the Prius? Well, now the joke's on us, my fellow Americans. All 2012 models of the Prius Family will come standard with a required noisemaker, er, "vehicle proximity notification system".

2012 Prius Mid-Cycle Refresh Official Details

Submitted by Danny on September 21, 2011 - 9:13am.

We brought you many of the details last month, but now Toyota has officially released information about all of the enhancements and changes being made to the 2012 Prius. Called a mid-cycle refresh, the 2012 Prius is getting a suite of new infotainment systems, and both exterior and interior changes. After seeing the refresh in person this past weekend at Green Drive Expo, I can report that Toyota made some great changes to keep the exterior of the Prius up to date and in-tune with the "tech" crowd's demands.

Here is the full press release from Toyota:
