"Why Aren’t Black Folks Driving Electric Vehicles?" Because of articles like this

Submitted by Danny on August 2, 2011 - 2:17pm.

The move to hybrid and electric vehicles is being adopted in greater percentages by white people than African-Americans or Latinos. I get that. But an article today in the Atlanta Post, "an online news site about African-American business news", shows the kind of ignorance and misinformation that gets passed around the African-American community as fact.

A few excerpts:

Climbing fuel prices again show many publications don't get it

Submitted by Russell Frost on February 25, 2011 - 12:52pm.

When reading the financial or auto press, it's usually a good idea to take what they say with a great deal of skepticism.

Today Edmunds made the same mistake its made time and time again, doing some static math and assuming that was the complete picture. In an article on rising gas prices Edumnds cautioned that a hybrid vehicle, like the Prius, may not always be the best buy. In this case Edmunds recommends a Camry in comparison as the difference in fuel cost doesn't justify the "extra money" the Prius costs.

What Drives Us - Episode 35 "The 'Wasn't that obvious?' Edition"

Submitted by Danny on October 5, 2010 - 10:02am.

Abandoned by co-host Danny Cooper and regular panelist Tony Schaefer, Russell had to go another continent on another hemisphere to fill the gap. This week we are very glad to have Dr. Evan Fusco back on the show, live from Australia. Regular Panelist, Linda Weidemann braves some nasty, unnamed illness to appear on the show as well. A great show with a wide range of topics mostly centered around the, "Wasn't that obvious?" theme.

Host: Russell Frost

Panelists: Linda Weidemann, Dr. Evan Fusco

Toyota will launch 6 all-new hybrid vehicles globally by end of 2012

Submitted by Danny on September 13, 2010 - 4:51pm.

Toyota just tweeted that their global Executive Vice President Takeshi Uchiyamada has announced that the company will launch six all-new hybrid vehicles across the globe by the end of 2012. Since Toyota used the word "hybrid", I am assuming that the six models are exclusive of any EVs they are planning on launching.
