The navigation system does mute the left speaker while it's giving voice guidance. Other than that, I don't think the Prius ever changes the volume unless you adjust it yourself. |

I don' know what year you have, but my 2006 has adaptive volume control whereas its supposed to go louder as the road noise increases.. I believe the older models may have that too. | |

I have been having some funny issues with my volume control. I tried to use the knob to turn it down once and it did not work so I tried the steering wheel and it worked just fine...and later that evening I watched it randomly turn itself down on the MFD. Are you using the steering wheel control and the knob interchangably as I am? |
