6 CD changer and Random

Just checking to see if this is a "feature"...

I play a MP3 CD...set it to Random...it randomizes...if I push the next button, it moves to the next song number...not random...yes?...no?...missing something?

Yep...I found the information on it operating that way...how wonderful!...glad I'm getting a DICE....

It sounds as though [Next] means "(Current Track) + 1". Whether you got to the current track through randomness or not doesn't matter; you just go up one track.

I rarely ever use the random feature so I'd never noticed before.

What you are thinking of is "Shuffle." What you have is "Random." It works as it should. When you get your dice, try your ipod in shuffle mode; it will go forward and back to the same song over and over, NOT in a random manner.

I know what you mean. If you want to go to the next "random" track then just toggle the random button on and off, otherwise you will just be going in order.

Maybe I missed it but is there any way to do a true shuffle among the tracks of all 6 CD's with the 06-07 system? You could do this on the 04 but it seems like the updated system no longer has this capability.

You've got to press the random button on the MFD extra long. The it will show as D.Rand (i.e., Disc random) rather than Rand (somewhere on the display, I forget where exactly) and you will have true random across all 6 cds.
