My Car: Package: Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | Back at Christmas time I got a pair of Infinity Reference 6010cs's to replace the rear speakers in my 2006 Prius Package 6 that has the JBL package. Shortly after I got them I took the door off to see what I would be working with. That is where I got lost. I dont have a lot of experience wiring car speakers, but I dont really feel like paying a lot of money for a car installation place to put them in if I dont have to. The main ? I have is how the heck do I wire these up since the current tweeter and woofer has the toyota clips and the infinity's have the crossover where only one set of wires can come in and then two sets come out to the speakers. Well which wires to I run into the crossover and what do I do with the others? Im sorry if this has already been covered, I did a search but most everything only deals with replacing the non-JBL speakers. Thanks in advanced for your help.

Then hook up the new woofer and tweeter to the appropriate places on the crossover. Repeat procedure for the other door. |

My Car: Package: Nominated 1 Time in 1 Post TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | Hi I am curious of how that worked for you with changing the speakers? I changed the ones in my 4runner and thought about trying it also in my Prius at some point. Was the sound quality improved greatly and could the stock unit power them enough? don't know if you know about em, but I try to buy from Crutchfield.com they give you full tech support and any questions when wiring etc, they helped me totally rewire my whole truck. thx |

When I did my install on my 4Runner, same situation, they had me take the wires from the woofer in the door and connect them to the crossover, however that system had no stock amp. They informed me that the crossover would split out the signal from those two wires, I am not 100% though on how it may be different having the amp in the Prius. Sorry I can't be of more help. | |

Trace the wires back to where they enter the door. You should see that the woofer and tweeter and wired in parallel. There is a capacitor wired in series with the tweeter (on the tweeter) to implement a high-pass filter with 6db slope. Since the wires go to the woofer first, just take those and connect them to the crossover, and then connect the crossover's outputs to the two drivers.
