My Car: 2005 Prius Package: #7 Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | We're annoucing our new line and Priuschat is going to sell it! DICE Silver Many people have wanted it, now you can.. Browse your iPod on your factory radio! What? You don't understand? Allow me to explain. With the DICE kit installed, you'll be able to browse to a artist, album, song or a playlist using the buttons on your steering wheel or headunit. I'll give you an example of a typical day when I'm in my car. I'm driving down the 91 and I want to listen to some Massive Attack. I select Artist, then press down til I see Massive Attack on the screen and wait a moment. Whatever I was listening to before stops and Massive Attack begins. But I'm in a bad mood today so I want to hear a specific song. I select Album, then scroll til I see Mezzanine and again I wait a moment. I can then choose the song I wanted to hear, Dissolved Girl. Pretty cool, huh? Best of all, you don't need the Navi screen to make this work! The single line display works exactly the same as a car with navigation. Now for the details: For this to work, you'll need text. So as before for Honda's you will have a XM ready radio and XM itself must be disconnected. The iPod will remain locked. This applies to all iPods, not just the current generation. 3rd generation iPods are no longer supported. (this does not apply to the 3rd gen Nano, they're ok) For those who plan on keeping XM, the standard DICE kit will still be available. This kit will have the latest updates, including 2008 model support. They will be the same cost as the current kits. |

What you're saying is that in addition to that, I can browse a song WITHIN the album which I can't do in the current one, right? |

My Car: 2008 Prius Package: #5 Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | I have a current model I bought 2 weeks ago and an '08 prius. I know I was going to have to RMA when the changes came out friday, is there a model swap or an upgrade path pther then paying full price for a new one? Also, is the wiring harness the same? Makes it easier for thos of us lazy types that dont like console disassembly. haha |

This is how upgrading will work - there will be a fee, depending on how long you've had it. If less than 30 days we'll be charging just enough to cover shipping and labor. If it's more than 30 we'll be charging a little more. I'm not sure what the fees are gonna be. We'll be starting this in a few weeks, after the initial orders for the Silver kits have been fulfilled.

Before you couldn't see the name of the album or playlist you were selecting. Now you can, but even better (And you can scroll through artists) - Now I can spin the tune wheel or press up/down on the steering wheel buttons and watch the names of my playlists, artists, etc whip by before choosing one. To select something, you choose what you want to listen to and after a second it starts playing. So navigation is ALOT more powerful and faster. And yes, you can now browse to a certain song within an artist or album without issue. No playlist restrictions, everything on the iPod is fully accessible. This will work in both SAT and CD/MP3 modes.

Yes the wiring harness is the same, you just remove the old one and pop in the new one.

It means you will no longer be able to use the iPod to choose your music if you had any of the previous generations. If you have a Touch or iPhone, everything else will remain unlocked for course, so you can still make calls, etc etc while using it to listen to music.
