My Car: Package: Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | I just picked up the new Audiovox 5600 SmartPhone last night, So far here is what I have found out. It does not display the Signal Strength of your cell but displays the signal type (e.g. Digital) and the bluetooth connection strength. It only rings on the phone, maybe. I have to play around with some of the profile settings still. You can only sync 1 contact at a time. And the contacts I have to play with because the phone syncs with Outlook for all its information and in Outlook the phone numbers are +1(XXX) XXX-XXXX and for what ever reason when I tried to send a contact to the car, it took but came out +1|||||||||||||. I am going to try and take out the () to see if thats what is killing it. The responce is very quick and the phone is very clear. I have the Sony Ericsson T610 & the T637 which both worked well but wanted a SmartPhone and the Audiovox is the smallest footprint SmartPhone out there. All of my phones have been with AT&T Wireless which is great as long as you have a GSM phone. I will keep you up to date with what I find whith using this phone. |

The problem of not transfering the number from my smrtphone to the car was caused by not only the () for the area code but also the - between the exchange and the rest of the number. Once I took that out it worked fine. SO I just have to make sure that Outlook does not add the () and - in the numbers. This phone has the same issue as most phones, multiple numbers for a single contact so it transfers the first one which happens to be the Home #, then Mobile and then Work. I am able to transfer a call from the car to the phone when I get out of the car by releasing the handsfree mode. Same with getting in the car, once the bluetooth syncs I can tranfer the call to the car. So far so good, I have not had any problems with AT&T or the phone. Alot of very cool features. |

I verified this thru Toyota after weeks of going back and fourth with them. To the point I actually talked with and Engineer who told me they yanked that feature but the books were already printed. |

My Car: Other Non-Hybrid Package: N/A Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | I own AV 5600 and it has a few major flaws. 1. Boot time is horrible. I takes longer than a minute for the phone to get to ready state after you turn it on. 2. Half of the time it does not boot, just hangs at green Audiovox screen. I have to yank the battery out and reinsert it. 3. Same when I switch it off. Half of the time it never turns off, just hangs at the green AV screen. 4. Ringer volume is too low, I routinely miss calls. I guess it is a great phone as long as you keep it on. I don't keep my phone on all the time so I actually regret getting AV 5600. |
