My Car: 2005 Prius Package: #6 Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | I just got my 2005 Prius with pkg. 6. I am locked into my Sprint contract for another year and do not have a bluetooth phone. Sprint currently offers only 2 bluetooth phones (Sprint discontinued the Sony Ericcson T608): PM-325 by LG $219.99 Treo 650 by PalmOne $419.99 Has anyone had success getting either of these Sprint phones to work with the 2005 Prius? Thanks for any info! |

If I place or answer a call using the handset the call is not automatically picked up by the car audio. It must be transfered using the handset menu for the car audio to work. | |

My Car: 2007 Prius Package: N/A Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | My wife has a Treo 650 which works fairly well with CarMyne. The primary problem is that an ongoing call will drop when the Sprint call waiting feature is implemented. You can disable call waiting on outgoing calls to avoid the problem. Also, the signal strength does not show on the MFD. Try searching on bluetooth or phones and you can find several comments on the various phones. Also, I believe you can still get the T608 from third party suppliers. |

My Car: Package: Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | Having Sprint, you can sign up for Voice Command(sm), put *1 in one of the 1-Touch slots, and make outgoing calls using one touch of the steering wheel button and one touch of the MFD. Here's the URL for anyone who isn't familiar with Sprint Voice Command. http://www1.sprintpcs.com/explore/ueConten...pcsVoiceCommand I think with our plan it costs $5/month extra for the service - well worth it to me to be able to edit my phone book on-line and just speak the commands. It makes the Prius Bluetooth system even cooler than having the MFD directory. I'd like to find a way to have the Prius dial the 1st 1-Touch entry automatically, like maybe 'press-and-hold' the off-hook button. |

However, all the phones which have the ability to transfer the contact list to the car's phone book have OBEX protocols. Sprint is aware of the problem and a future firmware update (now done over the air) should fix this issue. The big question is when. The latest firmware update (v18), released last week, still has not added the requisite protocols. |

However, although the phone has OBEX it does not transfer the number correctly to the Prius. All you get is the name, no phone number, no error message on the phone or the Prius. It have taken to using the iPAQ 2200 to enter contact names and phone number and tranfer them to the Prius. I believe other OBEX devices would work also, just not the PPC6600/6601. |

Cingular has already had an incident where a virus was transfered via BT at one of their stores. apparently someone did it as a prank (or test) at a store in LA |
