I find the manual difficult to read & absorb though, so after mastering the basics I just find things by exploring. Recently I noticed something handy when you have more than one destination set. The display, once you're under route guidance, shows the distance/time to your next destination, on the left hand side of the screen. By default when you have multiple destinations set, this shows how far to the first destination. The total trip time displays briefly at the beginning & I've often been frustrated by not being able to see the time to my final destination. It turns out that this is a "live" button - if you touch it you can switch between the distance/time to any of the destinations you have set. This is great for me since I sometimes have an optional first stop, depending on traffic. Anyone else notice something cool you didn't know about in the Nav system after using it for a while?

Press 'Change' button, and you'll get a mock map display with all icons/buttons displayed. Those greyed will disappear when you select <off. See page 89 of NAV manual. Another thing I found is that you can change the initial POI categories, which is the next setup 'change' option. That's on page 90, but its easier to just play with it. |

My Car: Package: Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | Thanks for the info...another question- after entering a destination, how do I preview the route it is going to take? I figured out how it will show me the route on the map, but I want to see all of the names of the roads before I select that route (on one screeen if possible). Is there any way to do that? |

My Car: Package: Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | I wonder if my problem can be resolved by what you describe below. I punch in my destination before beginning to drive and the screen shows it is setting my route and destination. Alas this means nothing as later the emergency icon is highlighted (others are dark) and I am directed to (probably) the police station, hospital, or Toyota dealership. In other words the system locks up. I should mention the car and I are just fine. Been a proud owner for about 5 weeks now. Any suggestions from anyone would be much appreciated!! - thanks On page 3 of the setup is the <Off function setup option. Press 'Change' button, and you'll get a mock map display with all icons/buttons displayed. Those greyed will disappear when you select <off. See page 89 of NAV manual. |

Also, is there a button that says "Back" in the upper left hand corner of the screen you describe? If so is it active or grayed out? If active what screen does it take you to when you press it? Sorry, it's hard to be specific from memory - I'll try to remember to look when I go home from work tonight. | |
