Friends: 1 | I was just noticing the ad on PriusChat for a front license plate. That got me thinking about maybe getting a personalized front license plate just to make my car a little different. Does anyone know if front plates are not allowed in Arizona? I am fairly certain I've seen them on other vehicles. I guess I'd have the car dealer drill the holes so I could attach it. Does that create any kind of problem? |

Friends: 0 | The holes are already there. Look for the 2 dimples in the front bumper. All you have to do is drill through the plastic. There should have been a front plate bracket supplied with your Prius. It may be in the rear storage area or with the spare tire. Take a look. |

Friends: 23 | Yeah, you really need to use the front plate bracket. The dimples are there and mark the spots for the holes. In theory you could use self drilling screws to mount it, but I chose to over-engineer and used bolts and lock-washers on the inside. Good luck. |

Friends: 9 | It's not that they are not allowed but that they are not required. In fact, I don't think the state cares what you have on the front bumper. I know a few BMW owners who have the European vanity plates on the front. |

Friends: 18 | In AZ, they will issue a 2nd front plate upon request. You may still have the front license plate bracket sitting in your hatch area unless the dealer tossed it during prep. I still have mine in the trunk, but my car is originally from CA where it was required. Once I moved to AZ, I pulled the naked bracket and stowed it for "later". |

Friends: 10 | First thing I did when i went to AZ for school with my truck was remove trhe front plate. Literally in Yuma right after crossing in the parking lot of Love's Gas Station. Wouldn't ya know it, on my way back that December for winter break I forgot to put it on and sure enough before I could even get to the dunes California Highway Patrol had my stopped on the side of the road askin to see my front license plate and gave me a "Fix it ticket" for $10 and getting it signed off. If you dont need anything there dont put it. I took my front bracket off when I washed my car and noticed it had scratched the paint in the shape of it. |
