Default Clarifying email from ADOT that dealer showed me.

Below is an email that a dealership showed me in regards in transferring my HOV plate from my Civic Hybrid to the Prius. I states that they are no longer transferring the plates. It was very safe to say I didn't order the car. I ended up logging on to serviceaz.com and called the DMV. I was transferred to a level 2 person to clarify this letter. The rep I spoke with stated that this doesn't apply to the Hybrids and she said as long as I transfer my plate (gave her my plate #) to another Civic Hybrid, Insight or a Prius that I would be allowed to keep it. She said that most likely I would have to take the paperwork to the the DMV to get the plate transfered if the dealer wouldn't.

I called the dealer back and they said that there title people weren't allowed to transfer the plates any longer. I will try and get them to waive their doc fee as I will have to register the car myself.

I just transferred my plate from my Civic Hybrid to my Prius in September. Auto Broker I went through did all the paperwork.

Yeah, I think the title people at the dealership had a huge misunderstanding of this letter that they received. From what I could gather out of the letter, it appears that they are not going to allow the vehicles that were convereted to natural gas or propane in the HOV lane anylonger without more than 2 peeps in the car. If any of you remember that was Gov Hulls thing that gave a lot of tax credits to convert your car to one of those alternative fuels. They will be able to keep the plate but just can't use the HOV lane by themselves.

Off to the dealership this weekend to order mine.
