Got a parking ticket.. with hov?

I have a 2005 Prius w HOV stickers. I was told I do not have to put money in the meters...

I got a $50 parking ticket in Encino, CA today.. infront of Chipotle..

What the hell?

Can I fight the ticket? Can anyone shed any light on the situation?

The City of Los Angeles, is NOT, The City of Encino!!

That little parking perk applies ONLY to City of Los Angeles parking.

Encino, apparently, has other ideas $$$ !!

I would get the person who told you this info to pay 1/2 of it......

OUCH!!!

Also check the code violation on the ticket. Are you sure you were not in a "Valet" zone??? or "Other" restricted parking, other than just a NO MONEY in Meter thing!

Encino is within the municipality of Los Angeles. In February of 2009, the city council voted to get rid of the free parking effective March 2009. So there is no more free parking anywhere in Los Angeles, although I think there is still free parking in Santa Monica.

I just got a Frickin' parking ticket in city of Santa Monica for Parking in my spot backwards! I went to the farmers market and went to park in a structure on 4th and Wilshire. I saw about 5-other cars backed in....So I backed in too! Came back to my car and saw a $50.00 ticket. "Head in Only" was on the description. WTF I should of parked on the street and took my chances. Leaving that parking structure is so much easier when you back in. Especially when that lot gets busy. What's up with all these different city rules? City of Glendale gives you a ticket for no front license plate parked at the Glendale Mall.........Good Luck out there!

What in the H is wrong with backing into a space, especially with b/u cameras?! I always err on the side of caution when parking but I don't see what the difference is.

You guys in California are crying about a $50 parking ticket? Come to NYC. The home of billionaire Michael Bloomberg. Our parking tickets are $115. While your here, come to Yankee Stadium to see the Yankees win the division against Anaheim. $25 to park at the stadium, $750 for a bleachers seat, $12 for a tasty NY hot Dog, $8 Coke. Want a $12 beer?

Ahhhh, the "Peoples Free State of Santa Monica" strikes again.
