Friends: 0 | does anyone know if the importing prices have gone up for importing a prius into canada from the us? Also if buying a prius from the us still qualifies you for the rebates? We are looking to buy a prius and having a hard time finding them in canada for a reasonable price, and possibly going to buy one from the US and wondering if its worth it or not? |

Friends: 0 | I imported 08 Touring package #6 from Arizona April 08 some compared charges: Desitinaion Chg:$1240 Cdn, $660Us Levies (Batteries/tires etc):$125 Cdn, $125 US Additional Fees: $0 Cdn $66 US Duty: $0 Cdn, $1725 US Taxes, PST 7% (BC) and GST 6% - same for both RIV Import fee $0 Cdn, $195 US If did recived $2000 PST (BC) rebate off the purchase price I have applied for $2000 federal, however my broker listed/registered the vehicle at a different import address than I did so "ECO rebate" thought it was a used car and denied my claim, but recommended my broker to apply instead. Still waiting for this to be proceeded. I figured I would save $6000-$7000 buying from US. Also, I found the car with the options I wanted when they were not available in Canada. Nav, Blue-tooth, leather, etc. I have the broker name/number if you like. Quote:

Friends: 0 | I imported an '07 Touring model in Dec. of '06 from N.Carolina. I did not use a broker. But although the process was a little involved, wasn't too bad. I had to install DRL and then get it inspected (Canadian Tire), before it could be registered. It was a while ago now, but the numbers posted by Lloyd9 sounds similar to mine from '06. Although, I got mine just before the federal rebate came into effect. Cheers, eMileage. |
