And yes, the interior is Misty Grey. Here's my impressions after 3 days of Prius III driving ! The two accessories that I enjoy the most are the Dynamic Cruise Control and the back-up camera. One thing that I learned during the week-end is that the cruise control gets desactivated when the windshield wiper are at "max" ! It is true that the rear window limites the visibility, but the camera is very helpful. I don't know how good it will be during the winter with the snow and the ice. Usually, hatchback gets very dirty during winter time with the calcium. The fan associated with the solar panel does its job. Same thing with the remote AC. However, I have to get used to it. I missed the occasion to use it several times during the week-end ! I also tried the parking assist system. It is working pretty well. However, if you are in a hurry or if someone is following you, I thing that you will prefer to park yourself cause it takes some "precious" seconds to activate it and park. BTW, I haven't been able to put more than 4 CD in the player and it is supposed to take 6 !?? However, it is working properly. My dealer will call me during the week to see how things are going, I will talk to him about that. I also love the sunroof. When opened, it does not get windy nor noisy inside the car. That is another thing that I like, it is very quiet. We hardly hear the fuel engine when it is solicitated. I had some difficulties to match my homelink to my garage door opener but it think it is because it's an old model. I finally did it after 30 minutes ! If you are looking for trouble, get a Satellite Radio ! It is probably the same everywhere across Canada but we have to choose among 237 channels on the SAT radio and we have the possibility to program only 18 ! Let say that my 16 years old boy, his 14 years old sister, my wife and I do not always agree on what should be selected and what should not ! I don't know if it's because of the breaking in period or because I don't know the "tricks" but so far I got an average of 4.5 l/100km. I expected a bit less. During our getaway there were some hills and I would say that 70% of the 500 km have been made on highways or secondary roads at 100 or 90 km/h. Well, that's all for now !

Friends: 23 | If you get the navigation system, it's a 4-disc CD Changer (the other two is taken up by a DVD-player for the navigation system) so it's correct. 4.5L/100km is fantastic!! You guys are getting waaay better mileage than what I got when our 2005 was new (we were closer to 5.5L/100km). If that's the case, I can't wait to get below 4.0L/100km consistently (I've only got 3.9L/100km once and got 4.0L/100km 3 times over an entire tank) |

After seeing Richard P's car, I have an appointment on Thursday to get the bodyside moulding on. Maybe then I can start parking in parking lots again rather than out on the street.

Got tinted today, as much as is legal in BC, 15% tint all around except the fronts. Although, you might notice I also got the small window in front of the driver's window tinted too, hopefully I don't get hassled about that! Bodyside moulding on Thursday...

Friends: 0 | Where did you get your tinting done? There's very few bubbles for day 1 tint that's impressive Trimline on my last car it took 3 days for the bubbles to go away with in the sunshine. With the sub do you get any rattle that may need dynamat to fix anywhere? |

Radon, I got the tint done at N-Motion Auto on Boundary Road for $234 with tax. If you look very closely you can still see a few bubbles but that should be gone in a couple days. At some point I'll probably put some 70% tint on the fronts as well but I just got a ticket for that on my last car so I'm a bit wary... With the sub at a reasonable level there is a tiny rattle at the fuel door. If I turn it up to ridiculous levels it rattles the whole back end pretty good but nothing too serious. There doesn't seem to be any rattling on the inside though. That's one reason I wanted to install the sub because the stock system was shaking the mirrors, console and door pockets too much with the bass turned up. If you want to see how I installed it, check this. 2010 Prius with JBL - Powered Subwoofer Install (Pics and Instructions)

At Toyota they ask about 300$ plus tax (They subcontract this job). Somewhere else (Lebeau vitre d'auto) they charge 175 $ and on the web, in Montreal I found a "specialist" (Dr Tint) but I didn't call him for an estimate. On the website it says that they remove the inside panel of the doors to make sure the job is well done (For some reasons the idea of removing the inside panel of the doors makes me nervous, even if he claims to be a Doctor !).

Friends: 2 | I might be considered out of the topic but since this thread is dedicated to canadians, I took the liberty to revise our National Anthem (a Prius fan version). Since I'm not bilngual, feel free to correct the wording and propose new lines ! Happy Canada day to everyone ! O Canada ! The home of Prius fans We are not all in favour of oil sands. With our car using electricity The true north we will conquer. From far and wide, O Canada, we stand on guard for trees. God keep our land pollution free. O Canada, we stand on guard for trees O Canada, we stand on guard for trees Last edited by Richard P; 07-01-2009 at 08:25 AM. |
