Just wondering if Rain-X can be used in our wing mirrors.

Also, I forgot the procedure Jayman said about cleaning the glass before using Rain-X

I put it on the sideview mirrors but haven't noticed anywhere near the effect as on the windshield. YMMV, of course.

Anyway, here's the relevant portion of the post I believe you were referring to by Jayman:

A lot of folks have had problems with smears/streaks or wiper chatter after applying Rain-X. It's really important that you properly clean the glass first and also clean the wiper blades.

Don't just spritz some blue window cleaner on the glass and wipe with a paper towel, though that will help get the bugs and things off. Do yourself a favor and get a can of Stoner Invisible Glass, and a few clean white cotton Terry towels.

Use the Invisible Glass on the inside glass, then the outside, and you will notice the difference. It's amazing how much film the regular glass cleaner and paper towels leave behind.

Once the glass is clean, apply the Rain-X and use another dry Terry towel to polish it. Then spritz on some distilled water, preferably DI (De Ionized water) if you can find it. Wipe with another dry Terry towel and you're done.

Snow!

But yeah, seriously, I find that I really don't need to use the wipers in light rain very much, particularly at higher speeds.

The invisible glass do what do you use to clean the window? Paper towels, newspaper, or cloth towels?

I've used rain-x for along time. It's great. I use the spray on can and let it dry then polish to a nice sheen.

paper towels leave streaks from wetting agents. newspaper makes your hands black. and if you have a tan interior it will leave marks on your a-pillars. cloth towels, if dried with a fabric softener, will also leave streaks. pick whatever's the least annoying to you

I thought that's what cotton briefs with no stretch left in the waistband were for.
