Default Royal Purple - experience?

Question for all you oil guru's: Have any of you tried/used Royal Purple oil? (www.royalpurple.com) Someone at work was telling me about it today, first time I've heard of it. I'd be curious to know if it's worth the expense, and if it'd be worth it for the Prius. Thanks!

Used it in my Honda Odyssey (5-20) and my MGB (20-50wt). It's expensive and, frankly, I don't think its worth it. Amzoil and Mobil 1 should be sufficient - if you change it at 3000-4000 miles, it shouldn't make a difference.

i agree that everything i have ever read indicated that the synthetic's main advantage was lasting a long time.

no matter what any manual has ever said, i have always changed my oil every 3000 miles. it's the life blood of the car.

How much were you paying for Royal Purple? I found it for just a few cents more than Mobil 1, whereas Amsoil and Redline are far more expensive.
