Hi all,

just curious where you get your Prius parts. My 2 local auto stores (autozone, and pep boys) don't carry many parts for the Prius. I was just in there looking for a PCV valve, they didn't have it. Also don't have the cabin air filter, and the engine air filter is hard to find. Where do you guys get your parts when maintenance time comes around?

thanks,
-Peter B

These guys are WAY cheaper than any local dealer and sometimes shipping is free.

Thanks for the replies guys... that site looks good. Will have to try them for my parts next time.

I just hit 60k on the odo. My MFD did go bad about 6 months ago. They replaced it under my extended warranty. Everything has been great otherwise. I did have a yellow brake warning light come on a few weeks ago but it went off the next day. hmmmm.

Another source to consider:

www.metrotpn.com

Has been helpful to the Prius community for years.

Scott (or anyone),

Is the MFD known to go bad? Is this just a 2004 model problem?

Yep. '04 and early '05. Toyota issued a TSB to replace it if the customer reports a problem, so they know that it has some design and/or manufacturing problem. This means you should try leaning on Toyota to pay for part of the replacement if yours should fail. Toyota has rebuilt ones so you don't have to get a new one.
