If you are in NJ and are EVER thinking about getting a Prius, please, Prestige Toyota in Ramsey will be your best bet. We had been screwed over by various dealerships, especially Shore Toyota of Mays Landing. The salesperson told us that they could hold our deposit until August 1st (we filled out an order form w/o a VIN number), even though I later found out they cannot hold that deposit until you drive the vehicle off the lot. We then went to Prestige and talked to them, and they had one with a VIN number, so we placed the order and the salesperson insured us that they do not take satisfaction on holding money and that if one came in from shore, we could cancel the deposit.

A week later, the Prius arrived in Ramsey, and everything went pretty smoothly with the process, although there were some delays. I drove the Prius off the lot around 9pm.

For what is worth, I had a MUCH better experience February '06. I went only to one dealer, Morristown Toyota who told me they were NJ's largest seller of Prius'. I, ofcourse took it with a grain of salt. I went to this dealer after a phone call in which they said they had about a dozen cars on the lot AND they never charge above "sticker". This dealer is about 3/4 hour from home so I scheduled an appointment. When I arrived, he took me for a test drive and then stopped at the Prius' in the lot for my inspection. They had many colors with the different options. I wanted the navigation package (#6) and they had a Red & a Black for me to choose. I selected the Red one and gave him a $1,000 deposit. Three days later I was back to take delivery. There were NO extra charges. I just paid sticker. Overall it was an excellent experience and I wood recommend this dealer to anyone.
