Hi all,

This is my first post.

I am thinking about getting rid of my near-end-lease car and get a Prius anytime soon.

So can any of you recommend a Toyota dealer ship in Bay Area?

I went to Sunnyvale Toyota and they were quoting me no hassle MSRP-$750, which doesn't seem too good.

I came to know that Piercy Toyota in San Jose does Costco pricing. Will they be better?

Also, one of the other brand dealerships offerred me to take over my lease (about 2 month payments left) if I buy from them. But I am not sure if Toyota dealers would offer the same.

Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.

We bought our Prius at City Toyota in Daly City. The sales manager quoted me a great price on the phone (for a package #2), we showed up, price was still great, test drove the car and bought it. No high pressure pitch, no smarmy personalities. They also have a huge inventory of Prii. Hope you find the one you're looking for!

I had a bad experience with a salesman at Piercy in San Jose so ended up going to Toyota 101 in Redwood City to buy my car. John Lee at Toyota 101 is usually the internet sales guy but he ended up working with me and it was a great experience. At the time (Sept 2005) there were no deals, so the price was MSRP or nothing. However they did let me rent a Prius for the weekend and if I bought the car then the rental would be reimbursed. Everything went smooth as silk and I ended up with a car about three weeks after initially going into their showroom.

I would not recommend Toyota of Alameda. I would definitely recommend Joe Testa, Internet Fleet Sales from the Oakland Toyota dealership. Like comparing apples to oranges in customer service and sales. Joe knew everything about the Prius there is to know and he took me on a test drive and told me to ask any questions I had and he answered every single one. He gave me extra tips that I'd never heard about before (and I researched a lot) like to make sure to depress the button down under the steering wheel when you're going away for extended periods of time so the smart key doesn't screw up things. All I got from the Alameda dealership was 'this car is the best and we are selling so many this is the best deal we can offer you.' Not much on the customer service. I actually cancelled the transaction at the Alameda dealership and bought from Oakland instead when I found out the Oakland dealership had the bisque/tan interior I wanted with my blue exterior rather than the gray (which is all Alameda had in), and I was better off for it considering how good Mr. Testa was spending time with me before we even talked financials. I paid $24,900 before taxes and fees. It was actually a couple hundred higher than what Alameda offered - but they had the exact interior color I wanted and the customer service was stellar by comparison. he even followed up with me in an email and is still encouraging me to ask more questions. I highly recommend Joe Testa at the Oakland Toyota dealership.

You're further south, so my recommendations may not apply. DO NOT DEAL with Toyota Marin...my personal experience there was ghastly. You'd think I OWED them my hard earned money at a dance, price and unlimited abuse of their call.

On the other hand, Freeman Toyota in Santa Rosa has been the complete opposite. They seem to live to please even offering free courtesy vehicles from their fleet so as to not inconvenience me and waste my time in their waiting room. Use them.

Hi we just bought a prius 7/8/07. We shopped on line via quotes from about 10 dealers.A lot of dealers were high on Prius package #6. Best deals came in
from Vacaville and Capitol Toyota. We ended up buying from Capitol toyota in San Jose- we were pleased with the transaction. Paid $25,715 for package #6 with floor mats .

I had a pretty good interaction with Putnam Toyota in Burlingame. I believe the salesman's name was Zoran(?)

The other guy I dealt with, though, did try to force the extended warranty, pre-paid maintenance, and other things on me, though, so it wasn't perfect...but their service department (Corey) has been helpful and did the install of my TRD parts in a timely and careful manner.

Paid $29,5-something for my '06 top of the line package, with factory leather.

I just bought a new Prius on 7/7/07, from City Toyota (in Daly City), price was $22k for #2 (just over invoice). I went to Piercy to test drive and was ready to buy from them, but they wouldn't match the City Toyota price so I left and went to Daly City. The dealership is brand new, only 1 month old, by far the best new car buying experience I've ever had.

^How much did you pay +taxes and fees for your Prius?

I'm looking into buying a package #2 Prius. I went to Putnam in Burlingame and they offered me 23,916 OTD for a #2 in silver. I'm looking into one in magnetic gray.

We just bought our Prius from Burlingame Putnam and Nazir was our salesperson and he is fantastic! I really
liked him alot and would recommend him wholeheartedly.

We got the touring package 6 in Seaside Pearl. I had called the internet folks at Sunnyvale and they quoted me 26,500 so I asked Nazir if he would match it and he did! No problems, no pressure. Included floor mats.

The finance guy Michael (mentioned above) was very slick and sold us a prepaid maintenance which we have now cancelled. So dont let him talk you into that!

Our interest rate was 6.5 after being quoted 7.4 in Sunnyvale.

Give Nazir a call!
