Gale Toyota in Enfield CT (?)

Has anyone dealt with Gale Toyota? via internet? How have your experiences been?

I've got a $500 deposit down to get me on the "waiting list" for an '08 Touring Package 3. They're selling at MSRP - which considering present market conditions - sounds fair. My concern is whether they're going to actually deliver in a reasonable time.

At first, July/August was mentioned, but on my last telephone conversation, the word September creeped in. Far as I know, they don't really indicate exactly what my position is on the "list", and there's no way to really track what their allocation provides, so all I can do is wait patiently...

Any experiences or advice?

I had typed out a full report to you of my experience with Gale back in 2005 when I ordered through them & then got the run-around for the next 6 months, but when I hit the "submit" key I lost the whole post (I had many interruptions from the time I started typing until I tried to submit the post & I think I got "timed out" like I quite frequently do over at PriusOnLine). Basically I got tired of the games Gale was playing with me & I bailed on them & went about 10 miles further north to Balise Toyota on Rt 5 in W. Springfield & got my car a lot faster & was treated better there. If I get the time I will try to re-post later today or tomorrow with some more of the info in my original post.

Salesman called today my car was in. When I got to the dealer and looked at it Silver PKG 2. I decided to pass on it and go for the Touring PKG 2. I've got to go back tororrow and change my deposit from the one that's there to the one that's not. Handling and braking are better with the Touring; and worth giving up a couple of MPGs to me. I ordered it May 23. Purchased it at the largest Prius dealer in the state. Only took 3 weeks.

Just chk'd in here to see if anybody else had reported to you on Gale Toyota, but I still don't have time to do the re-post from yesterday (I've got something really important to do for a while). Gale used to only get 2-3 Priuses a month back in 2005 (don't know if that has chg'd since then). Why not give Balise a call (they used to sell at MSRP---not sure now) because their allotment was between 7 & 10 a month & they were more will'g to work swaps (whereas Gale wouldn't budge at all from their allotment list). Only 6 weeks with Balise to get my EXACT car as opposed to 6 months of games & run-around with Gale & never the car I had asked them for (that's why I bailed on them & went to W. Springfield).

If you look at Fred's post, he's located in Arlington, Mass, so I think he was definitely talk'g about some dealer near him & NOT Gale. Take care.
