Friends: 0 | I had a great experience at Gosch Toyota in Hemet, CA this weekend. Hemet's not an easy place to find... it has to be one of the few cities in Southern California not served by a major freeway, and it took quite a bit of surface street driving to get to the Hemet Auto Mall. After a search by phone and in person of local dealerships turned up absolutely no Prius II or III models, I made a call on the off chance that this out-of-the-way dealer might not be as busy as others. The Internet Sales Manager, Emilio, was very helpful, put aside a car for me, and when I got there the car was ready for test drive. The deal was fair, I got a fair price for my trade, and while it took a little while (ok, about an hour) to get in to see the finance guy, everything worked out. They had two people who were very knowledgeable and willing to help me set up everything to my satisfaction, including pairing the bluetooth. I'm pretty tech savvy but it was nice to be treated like a first-class citizen and given a tour of my new car. If you're up for a drive to... no kidding, the intersection of nowhere and nowhere, or if by bizarre coincidence you find yourself near Hemet, I highly recommend them. |

Friends: 0 | Out the door for a II with Bluetooth, cargo mat, rear bumper protector... it was 100% MSRP. I think with tax and everything it ended up being about $26k. A bit of an update: I didn't want to post until I finished this little transaction so... it took about a week to get an appointment to have the reverse beep fixed (had it written into the sales contract). They were "going to call me" on Monday, and they didn't. So I called them. The person who said she'd called me had left it for someone else, that someone else was on vacation. So I got the original person on the phone and they sent me to service. Service hadn't heard of the request, didn't think it could be done, or maybe it would take a whole day. I had to get pretty forceful about it. So of course the only person who could do it was on vacation. But I asked the service writer to research it and he did. He called me promptly the next morning and we scheduled it for yesterday. The work was done in about 10 minutes and I left happy. I'm glad I got it written into the sales contract because the service department billed the sales department $92.00 for this work. I think otherwise they would have tried to bill me. |

Friends: 0 | BlueTooth in a II??!! To my knowledge BlueTooth only comes in the III with the JBL stereo, actually according to Toyota's own site. Really 26K for a II?! It should have been closer to 25if not under 25k. Sounds like you got a III and didn't realize it? Last edited by frogpond1; 08-27-2009 at 12:53 AM. |

Friends: 0 | Oops my bad just looked at the Toyota site again and you can get Blutooth as a add on to the II but even with all that plus tax and doc. fees it still should have been closer to 25300. But really thats just splitting hairs now and as long as your happy |

Friends: 0 | Yeah, the sales tax in Hemet is also 9.75%. Good thing it's deductible on the federal income tax As for the $92, the sales department paid that... I didn't. They can expense it out any way they want, so long as it didn't come from my wallet. The Bluetooth is the Blu-Logic system, and I've seen this on quite a few IIs. I was told that it's added at the dock and there is a Toyota part for it, so it is under Toyota warranty if necessary. |
