Thumbs up Re: Texas approves $4.9 BILLION wind power project

This is good news IMO bet our governor (Rick Perry, a good ole boy Republican) won't like it (lots of natural gas in these parts)

Although a good idea, I'm sure Perry and his band of crooks are going to make money on it somehow, otherwise he would be against it.

There is a ranch in Crawford, TX where they should install at least half a dozen wind turbines.

No, thats just hot air coming out of there, and it just rises, doesn't blow, well not that there aren't a lot of people blowing there, just not enough to create wind.

Solar panels then? I'm sure that he won't have a problem helping out with getting off our oil addition. I think he said that once; that we are addicted to oil. Here is an opportunity to be part of the solution.

Saw T. Boone Pickins on TV this morning and has the right idea. Go solar, wind power, and search/find/research alternative fuels while also drilling for more oil everywhere possible. We will be locked into foreign oil for a long time, so we may as well drill as much as possible while alternatives are being researched. It seems strange that the dems will not go along with this when over 70% of the population says we should. This could be a real political issue in the election.

Every time I hear drilling everywhere, I can't get over how stupid this country is, the US DOESN'T DRILL, the oil companies do, all the US does is sell $1.50 a year, 10 year leases, that in most cases don't get drilled on until the oil companies want to. The oil companies have no incentive to drill, there is plenty of oil, and they could care less about helping the US getting off of foreign oil, its all the same to them, they are a business that only wants to spend money when they have to.

And just assuming that more drilling would do something, which it won't, even Bush admits that, more oil would simply mean less effort into alternatives.
