Friends: 12 | They should've put the article header in how many millions of dollars they've wasted on fuel cell expenses. Talk about a good reason for going banko . . . I mean, how stupid does the industry think the public is ... that we wouldn't ask the question, "... but where does the energy come from to make the fuel cel work?" . Friends: 23 | Come on, Hill. Hydrogen is one of the two building blocks of the universe and all matter as we know it. There is no energy used in the creation of hydrogen, it's free. Didn't you ever see the documentary "Young Einstein" in which he managed to split the beer atom to invent the beer head. He didn't use electricity to do it; he split the atom in his wood shed with an axe I think. It's just that easy though on a slightly larger scale (because we're dealing with molecules rather than atoms). Einstein also invented the electric violin and rock-n-roll. If you were curious.

Friends: 8 | Well, if you put pure Lithium in water, it readily creates hydrogen gas. So Lithium could be the fuel. 2Li + 2H2O = 2LiOH + H2 gas Extracting out the Lithium of the LIOH (what used to be water) is probably easier than teasing hydrogen out of pure water. Friends: 12 | Ahhhh ... true, true. It's good to find a silver lining on the dark cloud of hydrogen. But ... I FINALLY DID find a silver lining. Iceland, where geothermal energy means the cheepest hydrogen, is finally turning their backs on this mega waste. Friends: 63 | Even Iceland doesn't want hydrogen? Hurray! That's the one place I thought it could actually work, given their overabundance of thermal energy. So, why are governments here still being duped into subsidising hydrogen production and fuel cells? Are the lobbyists really so good they can suspend all brain functions in government officials? I know, I know...what was I thinking? Brains? Government? Sorry, I haven't had my coffee yet. |

Friends: 0 | So, what's that, 3...maybe 4 million miles on EV? How do we stop the hydrogen stupidity? The numbers will NEVER favor it over an EV. Laws of physics and all. To quote an old Simpsons episode (Homer, talking to Lisa)..."we obey the laws of thermodynamics in this house!" What episode of the Simpson...? - Yahoo! Answers Enjoy your hydrogen, GM...I'm going electric. So...when is the Joke...er...Volt coming? I thought so. |
