Default recall done at port

I just braved the cold. Under the hood/bonnet on the passenger/right
side is an unglazed sticker to the effect that a Toyota approved
modification was done on 2/12/03 (sic) authority 04TR19.The black
hard-to-read sticker on the driver's door frame says built 09/04. The
car came to Manhatten NY and was there several days befor I picked it up
12/12/03 Check yours. Peace Ammiel

I don't know a range but I will try to call Toyota customer service later on today to try and find out.

Yeah...I'm not too smart :stupid:

2. Identification of Involved Vehicles
Nationally, there are approximately 3,500 Model Year 2004 Prius vehicles involved in this campaign.
YEAR MODEL VIN Range VDS Range
2004 Prius KB20U 40001009 – 40012242
KB22U 40001142 – 40012271
NOTE: Not all vehicles in the VIN ranges are involved in this SSC. Always consult Dealer Daily or TIS to confirm VIN eligibility and to assure the SSC is applicable. This will verify the vehicle is involved and has not already been completed by another dealer or prior to dealer delivery. TMS warranty will not reimburse dealers for repairs conducted on vehicles
that are not affected.

3. Vehicles in Dealer Stock
Dealerships are requested to perform the campaign procedure on any vehicles in their stock prior to sale or lease of the vehicles within the applicable period.

Some cars have already had the service done prior to delivery. If you look under the hood on the passenger side you may see a sticker indicating a modification was done. If, on the lower right corner of the sticker, you have a code that reads '04TR19', then the work covered by the recall was done prior to delivery. Got this off the Yahoo! group, which is my source of last resort since it is such a pain to navigate. I'm real happy that mine was done already since my dealer is 30 mi. away and the roads here are miserable, at best, with all the snow and ice lately. Pray ( if your belief system so allows) for an early spring!!
