Organize a Tampa Bay Prius club?

Hi all, I'm Brad and I live in Pinellas in Safety Harbor. Ever drive by a bar and grill and see the weekly Harley nights, or the old 50's and 60's cars? What about us? Wouldn't it be awesome (and a public eye catcher) to see 20 or 30 Prius' lined up, all with their hoods up (LOL) at a local establishment? We can do it! There are 2,000,000+ of us here in the Tampa Bay metro area!

If you would like to organize a weekly or monthly gathering, please respond! I think it would not only be fun, but it might attrach attention from the non-hybrid crowd about our cars! Think about a hybrid caravan a few miles out from where we meet.

Brad, that's a great idea and let me tell you from experience: "yes, it is an eye catcher and it does draw attention."

Additionally, when we go to events we have more credibility in the eyes of the public because we do not work for Toyota. So many times I've heard people say that they learned more from us because we're experienced owners and they trust our answers because we don't represent a business interest.

i live on the east coast of fl, but my gf is starting school at usf in the fall and i might be attending a tech school over there so im in, and even if i dont move over i plan on visiting every once and a while so if you wanna meet up, just let me know!

also, I work for a local municipality in Pinellas that has about 15 Prii in its fleet.

I see some have replied to my OP and I am still interested. Since that post I have moved from Safety Harbor to Parrish which is in extreme northern Manatee County. I commutte to St.Pete for work.

I really would like to move this to the next level, therefore I am giving out my cell phone number. Please feel free to call and I would like for us if there is enough interest to have a meeting or two before Labor Day. Please call and let's get this rolling!!!

Does anyone in the Tampa Bay area have an opinion or comments on Toyota of Tampa? We live just north of Atlanta and are on their wait list.
