Thumbs up

Just joind the Prius Chat Group. My wife and I are seriusly looking to buy a new prius. We live in San Diego, but willing to go up to LA to purchase our car. We like Seaside Pearl exterior and grey interior with either package 5 or package 6. We know that California no longer has the clean air stickers and the Federal Government gives less than $800 incentive for Prius. should we get the teflon coating, Lojack? Is it worth the wait for the 2009 model? Any advise?

I have always felt that the aftermarket coatings are a scam. I have seen others who felt that they were a great thing post here, however.

It may be worth your while to wait for the new, 3rd generation Prius. There are supposed to be some marked improvements. There is a discussion of it here. There are probably probably others - try the search function. I'm sure that some of these are rampant speculation, but i do expect some major progress. The down side is that you won't be driving a Prius while you wait. At $3.00 per gallon, even the average 45mpg looks good.

Mad Hatter, Thanks for the reply. From time to time I see cars from the 90's, inluding Toyotas with faded paint. However, I haven't seen faded Prius.

Prius don't fade--they scratch.

For about $75, you can buy the Zaino polish that will protect your paint, and you will have the pleasure of applying it yourself. I just got my kit today, and I was really impressed by the clay bar for cleaning the car before applying the polish. I wish I had know about clay bars a long time ago.

Everyone who has not used a clay bar to clean their car should go to zainobrothers.com and order their cleaning and polishing kit right now. Then got to geico.com for an auto quote for your second stop.

You can check the inventories of Mossy Toyota and Kearny Mesa Toyota online.

I don't know about Mossy but Kearny Mesa will not charge you over MSRP. Don't get the teflon, the Lojack or any of the other dealer addons. If you want an extended warranty you can get it from Troy here.

No one knows what the 2009 model is going to offer. Can you wait a year?

Sorry. No Seaside pearl #5 or 6. Looks like their #5 and 6 are only in Magnetic Gray, Classic Silver, Driftwood Pearl, Barcelona Red.

mossytoyota.com

Mossy does have two Seaside Pearl #5 or 6.

These are 2007 models. They don't have the 2008 yet. Of course if you have to order, you can order from anyone.

Welcome to PriusChat comply energy,

By the way, this topic has no business here in FHOP!
It doesn't talk about religion, politics, or Google satellite images . . . how dare this topic pollute FHOP with actual Prius talk.
