First, the price will be in the $20K range ... then the $30K Range ... now it's the $40K range. And if it ever gets off the drawing board? Who knows how unafordable it'll be compared to, for example, my '04 Prius, fully loaded, which I got in '04 when it was 6 months used - for under $20K. On and on goes the GM spin. GM's last pure U.S. made car btw was the EV1. |

Hardly earth shaking, but we have to start somewhere. Naturally, the Socialist NDP party is firmly against debt repayment. Consider how they ran Ontario onto the rocks in the 1990's In case you haven't guessed, I'm a Fiscal Conservative. I absolutely do not believe in governments reaching into my pocketbook to steal my money, to fund enormous pork projects to buy votes from simpletons. I don't believe in welfare, as most of it is a pure grab. Especially corporate welfare. I like the Canadian Taxpayers Federation, they routinely publish the top corporate welfare recipients in Canada. Explain to me why a huge company like Bombardier or Pratt and Whitney Canada have received so much taxpayer moolah? Their repayment is also embarassing, under 40% on average. You will notice GM Canada and Ford Canada have also sucked the taxpayer teat http://www.taxpayer.com/pdf/Top_50_I..._1982-2005.pdf Thanks to their lobbying, the perpetual gas tax boondoggle is at least now being partially applied to roads. At one time, under 15% of gas tax revenue was put into roads, the rest was put into the magic slushy fund As far as American politics, Ross Perot had some good ideas, but nobody took him seriously. Recently, Ron Paul also had some good ideas, but again too far removed from the mushy "comfort zone" of conventional Republican or Democrat political bs. The current selection of Democrat and Republican is, imho, downright embarassing. Quite frankly, it doesn't matter one bit who gets in, the end result is the same, sorry to say Not sure what sort of catastrophe it will take before folks come to their senses. I suspect the sort of catastrophe that will require our great-great grandchildren to scratch primiative drawings on cave walls
