Concussion perhaps... and if the limited blast wasn't too large and was directed by the surrounding structure it may not blow out the glass.

Been there, seen blast effects up close... usually with bigger stuff though.

According to a report I heard yesterday, the bomb was in a tire that had been placed in front of the vehicle. It must have exploded when the doctor went to move the tire, either via motion sensor or command detonation.

It had nothing to do with the car. It was an opportunistic IED designed to maim/kill the doctor. That's why the FBI is now involved in this. They should have the expertise to determine trigger source.

I suppose a tire would make a perfect IED: the steel belted carcass would act like flechettes and cause significant soft tissue damage, organ damage, etc
