Hate to burst your bubble, but that's Sancto, Sancto, Sancto they were shouting and until the Cubs win the World series three times he clearly won't have enough miracles to be eligible for canonization.

Besides, I think given the context, they were probably talking about John Paul the II. Doncha Think?

O.K., I watched the re-run of the Mass on PBS, they were shouting Santo, Santo, Santo, but rhyming with Tonto, not Ant-oh. The crowd also clarified their intentions a few minutes later by chanting John Paulo repeatedly. Given that the funeral was for the Holy Father, Pope John Paul II, it is probably still safe to assume that the call for canonization was for him and not Ron.

Whether Cubs fans qualify for martyrdom is a point that could be argued.
