And if you're drafting closely enough to improve by that much, you're probably too close to be safe.

48mpg is still great no matter how you cut it.

My Car: 2008 Prius Package: #2 Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | I just started my 2nd tank yesterday. The first tank was 417 miles (had just dropped to 3 gauge bars lit), 6.117 gallons which calculates to 68.17 mpg but is probably an underfill since I stopped pumping as soon as the nozzle clicked off. The computer showed 50.8 mpg. We shall see what the next tankful looks like. In any case, I'm pleased. Peace, --CC-- |

But, on average, I usually get between 42 to 51 mpg per tank, depends on how and where I'm driving. |

My Car: 2008 Prius Package: #4 Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | Just finished my first tank yesterday after picking up the car on 3/28. The MFD says I did 50.3 MPG average for the tank. Calculation of 475 miles and 8.05 gallons added to the tank comes out to 59 and change MPG. Is there always this much difference in the numbers? A little OT question if I may... When the last unit on the fuel gauge starts blinking, how much gas is really left? Is it possible I still have over 3 gallons in my tank when I fueled? I pumped at low speed and the outside temp was about 62 and I stopped when it first clicked off. It now shows full again. I still need to increase the tire pressure as I am running at dealer levels. Thanks, Barry Last edited by barrybud; 04-14-2008 at 06:08 PM. |
