My Car: 2008 Prius Package: #2 Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | What was the old EPA estimate? 60/51? vs 48/45 new estimate? In other cars, I've usually gotten a number midway between the old city/hgy EPA estimate in mixed driving. That's around 55 by the old estimate. My first 150 miles I got 48, tire pressures 37/35. Mixed driving. My next 150 miles, I'm getting 52 mixed driving. About 75 miles ago, I raised the tire pressures by 1.5-2 psi. I'm at 39/37 or 38/36 right now. This is a brand new car the first 300 miles. I'm guessing it should be possible to get 55 in mixed driving. I think the new EPA numbers are on the low side. >50 mpg is a piece of cake--at least in the summer. |

My Car: 2008 Prius Package: #4 Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | On my daily commute from Hatfield, PA to Philadelphia, PA (Temple Univ), I just clocked 60.2 MPG this week over 233 miles. I look at several senior posters here and see them regularly clocking over 65 or even 70. As the picture reveals, there are several dips in the MPG chart that I should work on and I'll keep plugging away at it. Hopefully, I'll get there soon. I have no mods on the car other than 42/40 tirepressure. Thanks Dan P.S. I'm hopelessly addicted to this car and this site. You would think that a normal man would be dreaming about a fine lass, yet here I was last night, dreaming about posting my MPG to the priuschat site. |

We had 20 liters left (5.28 gallons) in the tank. Doing the math we hit 52MPG and that was with us not driving it to moderately so I'm sure this tank will be better. Great car, I'm very impressed. |

I might be able to shave off another MPG if I tried doing it myself, but I haven't mastered highway travel yet. Pretty good for New England, which has more hills, curves and bumps that rival just about any other horrible road conditions. Last edited by Doza; 07-01-2008 at 11:05 AM. |

My Car: 2006 Prius Package: #7 Nominated 7 Times in 2 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 15 | New record tank!!! 72.1mpg!!! Previous record tank was 70.4. This will bring my MFD calculated life time average to 59mpg! I could have gone for a 700 mile tank also but I was on my way home when the last pip started flashing. I thought I could ride it out for the holiday but better not chance it and get the cheaper gas. This will most likely be my last record tank with my stock Prius. (HINT: Hymotion ![]() |

My Car: 2008 Prius Package: #3 Touring Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | I now have 996 miles on our 2008 Prius and have consumed 18.982 gallons of fuel. My fuel economy for that distance is 52.5mpg. I have been driving with a "light foot" as much as possible and when on the x-way drive at at steady 60mph. I guess that about 50% is x-way. I like it!! |
