I guess you might count me out since I don't know what the official 0-5000 miles mpg is, but since then (October 2nd) I have driven 1500 miles sitting at 55.3mpg (MFD). I recall 3-4 tanks when I first got my Prius (April 29th) and before I inflated my tires below 45mpg. Since then it has been 50+ the highest at 59.7mpg.

Now my previous vehicle (94 V6 Camry) averaged 19mpg. Based on an price of $2.7/gallon and my current 55 to 19 mpg value of new vs old car I save about 9.3 cents per mile...

My commute is 8 miles back and forth, but the inflated tires and 62 MPH speed on the highway help a lot, despite the cruise control.

It would not really be the case without help from member on this forum

Here's my chance to post! I've only had my car since August, and I'm just up to 4200 miles, but the "lifetime" average is 53.1 MPG. As the cold has come on, I've really noticed a drop in mileage, so I don't think I'll last above 50 for very long. Next summer could save me!

46,000 miles since Jan. 06. 51.4 overall average. I do 45 mile each way commute every day, 99% freway speeds. Original OEM tires, no issues, never been back to the dealer, since day one

OK after a year of driving (> 18K miles) my Prius I feel it's now OK to join this club. See signature for data. This spring every tank has been >60 MPG and the numbers are rising with the warming temperatures.
LMPG = 57.1 (since the 5K break-in period = 58.8 MPG) ... now if I could only stay off the HWY - ~50% of my driving is on it.

I love quoting myself!

OK, the winter of my discontent is behind me, and a few 50+ tanks now have me back in the "club"! At 10,700 miles, my lifetime mpg hit 50.1. I expect slow increases until late fall. Hopefully, I'll get the lifetime up above 51 by then.
