FYI:

Ever since new I've kept a log of every fueling. So far, in 14+ months and 18,000+ miles, our Prius averages over 53.4 mpg.

We live in Southern California and do mixed driving.

That's great! I get between 51.5 and 54 in Southern Cal as well. In 4+ months I have almost 11k miles.

Hopefully priuschat has helped you to become a Prius Master!

That's quite respectable. I'm at 52.9 at 45k miles, but I have to contend with winter and tanks dropping as low as the upper 30s on occasion. Right now I'm showing 62.7mpg 380 miles into a tank so 53LMPG is in my sights, but I know it'll probably only be temporary once fall and winter hit.

Yes, it has! Priuschat has given me ideas to try. Those ideas and my interests in "feeling" out the machine, I have achieved those numbers. The fellow in part winter driving achieving 52.9mpg is doing very well!

Why did you have to mention winter!! I was feeling so good 62.1 at 327 miles on this tank! Major Bummer. Dude I was in the zone until you brought me down. Winter is coming, Winter is coming!
