Hello all,

I'm pleased to report that a Japanese lady Prius driver, TeddyGirl, achived 47.69 km/L (112 mpg), 2343 km/tank (1,456 miles)!!!

The marathon team did 110 mpg and 1,397 miles last summer, so this is the world record even done by a single driver.
The previous record by single driver was 1,372 miles by Nobu@Osaka in Japan.
http://priuschat.com/index.php?showtopic=19858&hl=

The displayed mileage was 49.1km/L (115 mpg).
She put 49.13 liter (12.99 US gallons), calc mileage was 47.69 km/L (112 mpg).

Wow, impressive tank. Was this over a few weeks or one long marathon drive (I assume a single driver couldn't go that far without rest breaks).

She wrote it was from July 4th to August 16th for her daily drive.
The ICE warming up count was 75, therefore the average drive distance was 31.2 km (19.4 miles).
Anyway, it is very very amazing!

Shoot, wish I could read how she did it!

Hey Ken, how the heck do you guys support the Japanese alphabet through the keyboard? I always figured you'd all just use the phonetic symbols, but obviously not.

She did this under "normal" riding conditions? Man that is impressive!

Does she have any specific techniques (beyond pulse&glide)? How often do people behind her honk? (wait Japan is a very polite land, maybe that helps!)

Wow. That's simply impressive.
And the responses she's getting on the Japanese site are truly inspirational. That is, I'm assuming they are since I can't read them. :P

Did she run out of gas before refilling? What kind of tires does she has?

I'm probably inviting a "late hit" penalty, but let me also ask -- how did she do it? Why am I guzzling along at a mere 48.5???
