Yea, I'm convinced that battery temp has been under-discussed and given short shift for it's importance in cold starts/cold weather driving. I've even got an idea for a small heater that would attach to the intake vent for the battery and could be hooked up to come on simultaneously w/ the EBH to just try to get the battery temp up to the 40-50 or even 60 degree range where it's clearly more efficient.

Today when I finished work, it was 28 degrees. The rear of the space ship was parked facing the sun, plus I have black mat in the back.
Interesting enough, the system was trying to glide almost immediately from start up. My first 5 minutes were about 30 MPG which is what I get when it's warmer. Unfortuantly, the second 5 minutes was worse than I normally get, then I was home. The first 5 minutes when I went to work in the dark were no where near this mileage.

But perhaps having a warm battery helps mileage when it's cold ??????
