Thumbs up

I followed the directions in the manual, found the screen which says low, high, or off for backlighting. Press the buttons, see NO difference. Now, granted, it is daytime when I did this, but even with my hand cupped over the screen, I could NOT see the backlight! What am I doing wrong?

No one has any ideas? Maybe I have a faulty unit...

If you followed the manual's instructions, I too would say the unit is faulty.

I have to cup my hands over it during the day to see it, but it can be seen. Having said that, I have the first generation SG, and one of the few differences between the models is the backlighting. For instance, IIRC, yours allows for a choice of backlight colors, whereas mine stays orange.

Maybe wait until dark to confirm.

Thanks, Jim. I think I will definitely double-check at night before I contact Danny about a replacement unit. I'd hate to go through a return if my eyesight is just not good enough!

It seems there may be a problem with the last batch Danny received as several people have mentioned a backlight problem in page 11 of this thread. I'd like to get one, but I'm a little apprehensive now.
