sweet gas

ok so yesterday i went 525 miles on a tank.

the last block was still not flashing but did not want to chance it .i only had eight bucks on me and that got almost 3 gallons but its still on last block is that normal?

Try searching on "guess gauge" or "gas gauge" you'll see that no one understands the gas gauge other than if the last pip is flashing that means "GET GAS NOW".

There is a threshold for amount of gas added before the gauge resets, which it sounds like you were under.

I was going to respond but was intimidated by your avatar.

The threshold for auto-reseting the gauge is three gallons. It sounds as though you were right here. Perhaps another half-gallon would have done it. At this point, you will just need to keep mental note of the amount of miles driven since the refill until you completely refill.
