Hmmm, sounds like I need to get me one of them! I am plagued by the short commute syndrome, only about 10 min to work mostly freeway. My first bar is usually 25-30mpg, then 55-60mpg for the second bar. I'm just coming to the end of my first normal routine driving tank and at 50.1 mpg] 400 miles. I'm very happy with that result, but I think bringing that first bar up would make a big difference!

Did you buy local, or order online? I assume there isn't much market for block heaters in Phoenix

Thanks for the info,

rob

I actually purchased mine during the group buy on this forum. I had it installed by Firengineer who is a member here and does most of the installs for the Prius community.

I have a short commute too. I take all side streets mostly Fry and Price along the 101 and it takes me roughly 20 mins from my house off of Cooper and the 202 to get to work on Warner and the 101. I went from a best tank of 63mpg to my current best of 73mpg mostly due to the EBH and using the same route and pulse and glide speed as before. I think it's worth it.

Very cool. I haven't tried a non-highway route yet, but at 7 mi it shouldn't be too bad. Of course, that would mean getting out of bed on time
