Kids Science Project - Prius Owner's Feedback Needed

Hi All,

My 12 year old daughter is doing a science project for school on savings achieved by Prius owners. Specifically, she requests your help with your personal experiences with the following questions -- she needs about 25 responses for meaningful results:

1. What year is your Prius?
2. What color is your Prius?
3. What mileage do you get with your Prius?
4. What car did you replace with your Prius (make, model, year)?
5. What mileage did that car get?

She will be compiling the information later this week and I will post the results in this forum. Thanks in advance!

3. What mileage do you get with your Prius? 52mpg or 60mpg if I try hard

4. What car did you replace with your Prius (make, model, year)? 2001 GMC Sierra Ext.Cab Z71 (twin-turbocharged with over 800HP) and a 2000 C5 Corvette.

5. What mileage did that car get? The truck: 14mpg avg. The Corvette: 25mpg avg.

For your daughter's sake, I'm not going to officially reply. Not the answers you're looking for - as our Prius is the polluting gas hog of the stable now. It replaced an EV that gets infinite miles to the gallon.

While I don't have a Prius (I have an '07 Camry Hybrid), I'll throw this in, just in case she desires a comparison:
1. What year is your Prius? '07 Toyota Camry Hybrid
2. What color is your Prius? Desert Sand Mica
3. What mileage do you get with your Prius? 38 city / 40 -> 42 Highway (60 - 65 mph)
4. What car did you replace with your Prius (make, model, year)? Pontiac Grand Am (6 cyl), 1996
5. What mileage did that car get? 22 - 26 city / 28 highway

1 - 2008
2 - Silver
3 - 51.7 (and climbing!)
4 - 2000 Dodge Durango 5.2L
5 - When traded - 17.5 mpg - It took me 225,000 miles to finally get good mileage for that car. Up till 200,000 I was only getting about 15
