Default Two Priuses vs One Volt?

Would you rather own 2 Toyota Priuses or 1 Chevy Volt? - TECH.BLORGE.com

Despite GM’s moving price point for the Chevy Volt, it’s becoming clear that it will retail for $40,000 or more. That’s nearly the same price as buying TWO Toyota Priuses. So which scenario makes more sense economically: one Chevy Volt, or two Toyota Priuses? The numbers tell an intriguing story...

What kind of greenwashing nonsense is that? A comparison like that doesn't even any sense.

If on the other hand, someone were to make a sincere effort comparing Volt to an augmented Prius with the same electric capacity, that's entirely different.

How can you compare the volt to anything? The volt does not exist!

What Gunny said! The volt could be nuclear powered or have warp drive but if they are not built then what good is that?

GM is within 1 year of being in serious risk of chapter 13 anyway. Business analysis by Wall street folks say if GM doesnt pull a bunch of rabbits out of a hat they are toast! Chrysler is in the same boat. Only Ford is safe for now.

Won't the Hybrid Tahoe save GM?

The show car Volt that made its rounds is very nice looking. I'd take one. But I love my 2001 Prius thus far, too.

I think that Chapter 13 is for individuals, GM, as a business, will probably go Chapter 11 (Reorganization) and if that is unsuccessful then onto Chapter 7 (Liquidation).
Scary scenario.

You could buy an A123 for one Prius and increase your electric to 40 miles and still be $10,000 under the price of a Volt.
