The dealer removed our radio ('04 w/package 6) to have the CD changer repaired. Now none of the MFD works - thank goodness for buttons on the steering wheel, but the BT phone connection is haywire also. Has anyone else experienced this? Dealer calls it normal, but I don't recall reading anything like this. Any workarounds?

so you have no display on the MFD and the buttons on it don't work? sounds to me like they didn't plug something in right. at any rate, it's not "normal" to take the car in for one problem and get it back with another - you should take it back to the dealer and demand they fix it (for free, since they broke it)

Withouth the head unit the AVC network is unterminated and will drive everything on it crazy. That includes the MFD, NAV, and JBL amp. The MFD communicates with the rest of this car through the gateway ECU using the AVC. You can put a 160 ohm resistor across the TX+/- terminals until you get your HU back and it will work.
