Any good iPod car holders for the prius?

I want to keep my iPod in my Prius, but i cant find any good holders for it. I saw the the Belkin one that goes in the cup holder, but i like my cup holders and use them lot so i dont want to get that one if i dont have to...

Anyone see any other good ones for the iPod and Prius?

I looked at the Belkin cup holder one myself, but didn't like it either.

The hardest part is the lack of space on the driver's side of the Prius to mount the iPod. The left vent is too close to the door, and a mount on the right vent would block the parking shift button. I thought about those pads that "stick" things to the dashboard (they aren't adhesive, just hold things in place by friction), but wanted a vertical mount so I could look over and see the screen without having to hold the iPod in my hand.

I finally went with the Monster iSportCase, which comes with a clear plastic body glove with clip for the iPod (which can keep scratches off) and a little dashboard mount that sticks to the dashboard via a 3M sticky pad. I didn't really want to have to stick something to the plastic, but I felt it was the only good option. I stuck it to the left of the steering wheel, next to the vent. It makes the iPod pretty accessible by my left hand, freeing my right hand to mess with the nav system...I mean...drive.

I put my Ipod in the space in the dash right below the radio. I use the thing that lets it work through a radio station, works well.

We put our iPod in the center console, plug in the 12v adaptor into the outlet that is in there and use the belkin FM adaptor to play it through the radio. Works good except that you occasionally have to change frequencys if you come near a station operating on the frequency that you are using.

I used good old Velcro tm and placed mine on the left of the dash. Easy and cheap! Now, I hope it doesn't melt in the sun.

I use the cassette adapter which costs liek $9.95 from RadioShack. It is pretty good quality and I just put the iPod in the front cupholer that folds open. It works like a charm. The only disadvantage is having a cable hanging down from your cassette player all the way to your cup holder, but its alright... I am not ready to spend too much money on this (unless someone builds some kind of special iPod integration kit that you can choose songs and playlists from the iPod display, that would be awesome). Like, iTunes IN THE CAR'S DISPLAY SCREEN!

Well, as it so happens, I use the Belkin iPod holder and a cassette adapter in my Prius. I think they both work well. Here are my thoughts.

Belkin cupholder iPod holder works well. However you have to put it at it's highest setting because the Prius cupholders are so deep. Even so, it only fits in the frontmost cupholder (out of the 2 between the front seats). The back one is too deep. If you attack anything to the dock connector on 3G & 4G iPods, you have to face the iPod towards the driver or passenger seat. You can't face the iPod straight rearwards. The dock connector hits the cover/lid for the rear cupholder. Also, I can remove the entire setup (iPod + iPod-holder) and put it into the center console. You know, so it doesn't get ripped off when I'm parked. javascript:emoticon('

Cassette adapter works well. It's not super high fidelity, but it's better than FM transmitters. Since I have a 4G iPod, once I plug in the cassette adapter into the headphone jack, it wakes the iPod up. And when I unplug it, the iPod pauses. For what it's worth I'm using the Sony cassette adapter. I also find and turning on the Dolby noise reduction helps a bit in reducing hiss. There is one downside to the cassette adapter. I have found that it doesn't work so well with the Sik Imp line-out adapter for the 3G/4G iPods. I get high levels of distortion with this setup. I think the cassette adapters are made for the headphone output and the line-out is putting out too high a signal level. But, if anyone has a better explanation, please let me know. Thus, I'm eagerly awaiting Coastal Tech's aux line-in adapter.

Proclip (www.Proclip.com) but you have to go through the Canadian web site not the US one. I have one for my Explorer and my wives Escape and they are very nice. Attach to the dash etc, easily removable and work well. I have one for my iQue, iPod, and cell phone.
