I had a Motorola V600 and it worked fine with the Prius Bluetooth system. I upgraded my phone to RAZR V3 and I got problems.

I can REGISTER (pair) the RAZR V3 with the Prius. However, it does not reconnect automatically.

Any suggestions?

What carrier is your phone on? You may have manually turn on Bluetooth on the phone.

On my Sprint Motorola Razr V3m, if Bluetooth isn't already on for an existing connection (or an earlier attempt), it'll shut BT off after a few minutes.

I use Cingular. With the same SIM card on my old Motorola V600 it works fine. But with the Razr V3 it does not connect automatically.

I have Bluetooth on all the time.

It does disconnects - so may be I have to give it more time to connect...I will look at the phone to see if there is a parameter for pairing time.

Thanks.

I have just tried the RAZR V3 with Car Settings->Power-Off Delay in Automatic and 15 minutes - and no luck. It still disconnects.

I also tried my V600 (which has Car Settings->Power-Off in 15 minutes) and it works fine.

The RAZR V3 has to be registered manually. When I restart the car, the and BT comes back up the RAZR V3 DISCONNECTS!!!!!

Any suggestions welcome!

Make sure that your RAZR Bluetooth is powered on. Go to settings, then connections, then select bluetooth link , then setup, then check that power is on.

I seem to recall having a similar problem with my wife's RAZR, and then discovered that the "auto connect" button was not enabled in the car's bluetooth/phone setup page. It now works fine, connects every time (this is to her HyCam, though).

For my blackberry to autoconnect to my Prius (or anything else), I also had to go into its (the blackberry's) bluetooth settings menu, find the Prius (once they had been paired), and change the "trusted" setting from the default of "no," to "yes." I don't recall that the RAZR had a "trusted" setting in its menus, though.

I do have the AUTOCONNECT ON on the BT. I do not see a TRUSTED option on the RAZR.

Thanks.

This is how I solved the problem:

1. Put the RAZR in its original Box.
2. Closed the box
3. When to the Post Office and
4. Sent it back to Amazon.com

I went back to my Motorola V600 that works great with the Prius.

Mystery solved !
I was wondering who might have bought the Razr that I returned to Amazon some time ago.

Did you make sure to select the RAZR as the primary phone? If you register several phones with the vehicle, you need to select which one to make primary to use. The system only works with one phone at a time.
