Friends: 0 | Does anyone know if it's possible to change the fuel consumption data on the MFD of a non-US Prius from L/100km to MPG? I've seen threads that say the odometer can't be changed, and that's fine... I just want to be able to see my fuel consumption in MPG, because no one, even in Canada, understands L/100km. It seems like it should be simple, but of course that doesn't necessarily mean that it is! |

That's funny eh? I remember an owner of Jiffy Lube asking me. When I said 4.5L/100km, he had this blank look on his face so I told him I should be able to hit 700kms on this tank and his facial expression goes "ohhhh" But the younger generation are catching on. | |

Friends: 0 | Ah, that's a shame. Some of the younger generation may be catching on, but I'm part of that generation, and I get that blank look from all my friends! It's not that they don't understand the unit, of course, it's just that they don't know how "4.5 L/100 km" compares to their 35 mpg car, since most of us don't carry calculators around with us |

Friends: 60 | So why does some US doofus have to direct you to Natural Resource Canada's Fuel Consumption Calculator? |

Here are a few key points I use 4.3L/100km = 55mpg US ~ 66mpg 4.7L/100km = 50mpg US = 60mpg 5.0L/100km = 47mpg US ~ 56mpg 5.6L/100km = 42mpg US ~ 50mpg That's all I need to use since I rarely go below 4.3 and never go above 5.6L/100km <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Bill Merchant @ Apr 17 2007, 10:37 PM) </div> Quote:
