There are lots of things in life that annoy me. Nothing the Prius does annoys me, including the beeps. After 38,000 totally trouble free miles, its all good, beeps and all.

A year ago when I bought my PRI the 1st thing I did was turn off the beeper using the methods mentioned in the above posts. Then I bought a small little round beeper from Radio Shop. I accessed the right rear back up light from inside the trunk and connected the little beeper to it. Now I have a much quieter beep-beep coming from the rear of the car. You can control the volume by insulating the beeper until you get the desired volume......

This is awesome.. Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I can't believe it worked. I asked the dealer who sold me the car and he had no idea (either that or he played dumb). Then I tried calling another dealer to get a second opinion and he said the same thing. Are they not supposed to give away this "secret" or do they just not know?

I have tried the "Odometer" method on my 2007 UK Gen II several times now without success.

Does anyone have any suggestions, please?
