my iPhone works pretty well with VAIS AIC-100i ipod adapter

I'm completely stoked. After sitting on the fence on the iphone thing I finally got one. Contract has been up with Sprint for almost a year and the kidlets were chomping at the bit for a new phone.

I work in telecommunications field (university) so pretty much have the free use of any phone our provider offers. First a blackberry (love it for corporate work), now am using a treo 700 wx.

Anyway decided to get the iphone since it was the cheapest data plan vs blackberry/blackjack/treo etc.

everyday I find new neat things about this phone. But the most recent one is that it plays my audiobooks/tunes through the VAIS AIC-100i and when I get a call, it pauses so I can answer it. When I get text - it pauses.

Although its not bluetooth through the speaker (don't have that) - I'm pretty happy

I haven't posted here in a while but feel this is urgent news. I just toasted my iPhone by using it with the VAIS AIC-100i adapter. It worked perfectly for a few months but I just hooked it up for the first time since upgrading the phone to 1.1.1 firmware and now the phone won't charge any more and reboots over and over. Sometimes the phone will act normal but gets really hot and the battery won't charge. All phone system sounds are distorted and if it gets too hot the screen goes crazy. I am warning anyone who uses this 3rd party solution that it's possible that it overcharges the iPhone (iPod gets pretty hot also). I've had this installed for about a year and has worked perfectly with 3 different iPods. Can't wait to see what Apple will do. Send it in for a few weeks to fix it or give me a new one.

Wow, I'm using mine with my SLI without problems. But I haven't upgraded to 1.1.1 yet. I like the third party software too much and don't care about the iTunes Music store. Now I have another reason.
