Friends: 0 | Has there been any effort at defeating the BT/nav lockouts by patching the software? |

Friends: 0 | I have been trying to decide on the best way to do this mod with the functionality I want. I'd like to condense it to one switch which will be installed next to my interior lighting dimmer. The functions I'd want would be to have both the NAV and BT circuits broken, the NAV on and BT off, and both on. I'm not too familiar with wiring, but I'm curious if a DPDT w/ center off (On-Off-On) would work. Basically, the bottom position would be NAV on/BT off, the center would be both off, and the top would be both on. Any takes on if this is possible? |

Ok Guys, I heard it was impossible, but with enough research i was able to figure it out. I have been looking for a way to unlock the Navigation while driving without have cut wires or do anything too major. Well here it is, It took me a few tries, but I now can drive and have my wife enter a destination or do anything else that is locked normally when in motion. Ok In short here is the process that I used. It is hybrid of a few others i have read. You will need a dual layer DVD +R (I used Memorex) and DVD burner that can burn Dual Layer disks. 1. Get v6.1 NavDVD's out and make sure they are clean. If not, wash them with warm soap and water and use a soft towel to DAB the extra water away. 2. Make a folder on your computer called "v6.1" and copy the contents of the v6.1 DVD to that folder. 3. Download v5.1 loading.kwi and replace the one that is in v6.1 folder with this one. You can get the file here Override for Navi - v5.1 LOADING.KWI File [archive] 4. Download and install ImgBurn,( The Official ImgBurn Website )set mode to "Build" Select source and point it to the backup directory of the NAV disc that is on your hard disk (refer to steps 1-3). Tell it YES that it is the root directory for the image content., Verify that file system under the options tab is ISO9660 + UDF, and recurse subdirs. Add the UDF label to name the disc under the lables tab. Press button to "build" ISO image. Give it a name. Use NERO or other software to burn image on to DVD+R DL disk with book type of DVD-ROM. Book type for nero can be set under "Choose Recorder", Options, Book type settings. Test disc in NAV system without pulling power yet. The NAV system will be able to read all the data on disc and give you POI's and new locations. The updated disc is now readable. 5. Next you pull fuse or neg battery cable for the 5 min. Then re-attach. Nav should pull new firmware and boot. Turn on the car, and perform the following on your Naviagtion. 6. Press Menu (menu screen appears) Press Volume (volume screen appears) Press upper left corner Press lower left corner Press upper left corner Press lower left corner (Service Menu will appear) Press and hold Over Ride for a few seconds NOTE: If you are unable to get the SERVICE MENU up w/ the above procedure, this means you are still running v06.1 firmware ... please disconnect your NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL & let the car sit for about 5 minutes ... then reconnect. This will clear out the NAVI's memory & when it comes back on, it will have to reload the firmware from your newly burned DVD, then the procedure should work!! The above process worked for me. I got most of my information from the below link. Good Luck | |
