Friends: 0 | Alright..... I have the circuit diagrams, and can get the parts but have one question: On the upper right side of both diagrams, there are two logic devices (BT only diagram shows two NAND gates while the BT-NAV combo shows one AND gate and one OP-Amp (I think)). What do those do and where do they go? If i'm missing something, feel free to poke fun at me because I am an EET major and have looked at this with two other engineers. Kind of embarrassing Quote:

Friends: 0 | Those are just unused NAND gates and comparators. The inputs should be tied to something to avoid surprises, but the outputs don't go anywhere nor do anything. |

Friends: 0 | Thanks to all especially Mike and Evan for you assistance! I ordered parts last night and will post pictures / results when I get the device built. |

Friends: 0 | So here's the prototype. Not very pretty on a breadboard though. It's past my bedtime and I don't want to go to sleep sad so I will be testing tomorrow / this weekend. If all works, I should have finished pics coming soon! I opted for the phone only version since I don't mind the NAV maintenance mode thing on my '05. Friends: 0 | Hi Brian, Just noticed that the BT only schematic doesn't mention how to set the 2 variable resistors. Hopefully you noticed the equivalent on the dual-auto-defeat schematic. But in case not, here's what you need: 1.20V on pin 6 of U3B 2.27V on pin 3 of U3A First adjust the lower 47KOhm variable resistor until you achieve the 1.20V value Then adjust the upper 47KOhm variabl resistor to get the 2.27V. Then double check that both voltages are still OK and retune if needed. Last edited by brosnan; 07-12-2008 at 12:26 AM. Reason: changed pin 5 to pin 6 |
