I have read the posts about Palm Treo and Bluetooth. We have a new 2008 Prius Base with package 6. The Motorola Razr V3c linked immediately, and works perfectly. The Palm Treo 650 recognizes the Prius, and after entry of the 1111 code, says that it is linked to Hands Free on the Prius, and it is now available for hands free use. But the Prius never acknowledges the Treo. I have followed the directions, and have not located an additional step after entry of the 1111 code from the Treo. I have repeated the linkage procedure many times. After the Treo says it is ready for use, I have waited for several minutes waiting for the Prius to acknowledge the Treo. It never happens. Am I missing another step? Thank you.

Thank you very much. This was a good idea even if I were not trying to link. I did update, but the process still seemed to stall on the Prius side after the Palm said it was linked. Please see the next post and reply. The trick was to place a call with the Palm. The Prius Bluetooth did capture the call. On the next power up, the Prius connected to the Palm automatically.

Thanks again.

Thank you very much. This worked just as you said. I did update the Palm firmware first (see advice above). Then after pairing, I placed a call. On the next power up, the Prius linked to the Palm automatically.

Thanks again.

I found that after updating my Treo 650 with the latest firmware, I could set things up correctly if I first added the Prius as a trusted device, then did the hands-free setup on the Treo. Both times I'm setting up the Prius to register the phone, but it doesn't complete the first time. It doesn't complete the second time either, but, as noted here before, making a call from the Treo will complete the registration process with the Prius.

I have a Treo 650 as well with updated firmware. I was finally able to pair it with Bluetooth in the car. However, I have noticed the called ID does not function properly. I can place and receive calls OK, but most times the called ID numbers do not show up on the MFD in the car.

Does anyone with the Treo 650 have a way to have Caller ID work properly?

Thanks! - Marvin

if you're moving it will not show... it doesn't want you to read and drive at the same time...

it will show a name in memory.. jus shoot your entire phonebook over to the car and it wil recognize all the numbers.

As Roy notes, it is the car's phonebook that determines whether the name associated with that number is shown, that along with where the call originated. If I place a call from my phone and it matches a number in the car's phonebook, I don't think it will display the name.

Though there are two numbers per entry in the Prius phonebook, I usually just use one number and have separate entries labelled (e.g. Pete M mobile, Pete M office). I'd like to hear what others do about that, and whether the two numbers per entry has some benefits.

i had this system on my old car (is350) so i'm ont able to test it out.. but i've always had an issue will dialing from the phone and it showing the name properly. I think it's very case sensitive between the phone and the car.

18189615712 8189615712 818-961-5712 ... i've tried playing around with these numbers. The main issue is when i dial from the car.. in my treo the number doesn't register properly. I never had time to do trial and error on this and it was very annoying. I hope someone has time to get it fully integrated. It would be nice to have names popup on the treo's dialed list rather than having a long list of number which really doesn't mean anything.

(a little off topic but the Parrot 3200 fully integrates with the treo. When i say fully.. i mean .. call ID pictures shown on the parrot screen and all my dialed number show up properly like you made the calls from the phone. Also 150 voice tags~ )
