Wink How to enter Bluetooth Voice Command Name Tags

I am a new user here, so forgive me if this info is posted elsewhere, but after reading all similar questions on this subject, I personally found no answers. First off, directions for adding voice tags ARE NOT in the manual. At least not in my 2009 manual. It states instead, "follow the system guidance"... great, except that the system guidance states "no voice tags assigned"..... circular logic does not help, so maybe these directions will...

Okay, enough nonsense. Here is the step by step:

After connecting your Bluetooth phone and moving your contact lists into your Prius phone books:

Select settings and move your most frequent calls into the "Speed Dial" slots:

then, go back to "PHONE BOOK"
select the name you want to assign a voice tag to, and

at "CONTACT DATA"
select "EDIT"

at "EDIT CONTACT DATA"
select (the double down arrows, far left bottom side)

you will then see a "voice recognition OFF"
select "VOICE REC"

then, at "VOICE TAG"
select "REC" (record)

you can then accept or reject the recorded sound.
select "OK" go back to the main menus.

! DONE !
Check it in action, then enter the rest as you want.

That was VERY useful. I was at the same frustrated stage you were at and came in from the garage to do a quick search and your helpful post showed right up. Assume you hit the down arrow finally and saw the other command? Agree, the book did not list it.

One other question....once you have the voice tags on I understand you simply go to the phone book screen hit the "voice" button and when prompted say the name. I do that, it pulls the right contact up and then it says hit the "off receiver" button to dial the number or voice button for the dial command. The voice button sequence works but when I hit the "off receiver" button when the contact is up, it simply resorts to the phone book screen like it canceled the action. any thoughts? Bob

Thanks! This is very helpful. I agree the manual leaves a lot to be desired in this area.

Thanks. I definitely wasn't in the manual and I would have never thought to scroll down.
